Hanif Kureishi’s Intimacy has been translated to film by director Patrice Chereau

Intimacy will open in England in July, and in the United States in September. The film has won the Golden Bear award for best film at the Berlin Film Festival. Kerry Fox was also awarded the Silver Bear for best actress.

The film adaptation was directed by Patrice Chereau. Mark Rylance( Angels and Insects) and Kerry Fox (The Shallow Grave, The Hanging Garden) star in the film based on Kureishi’s novel. Chereau (Queen Margot and last year’s Those Who Love Me Can Take the Train) shot Intimacy in London.
